What are the operating conditions of an electrically operated brake?

The electrically operated brake is surrounded by Class B insulation, and the voltage fluctuation does not exceed +5% and -15% of the rated voltage. The operating mode is continuous operation. When installing the electrically operated brake, the matching accuracy between the transmission shaft and the brake should be ensured.

   Electric Brake Overview

Braking and separation controlled by 24V DC, including power-on braking and power-off separation.

Flange structure; customers can install pulleys, sprockets, gears, etc., on the side flange.

For use in dry, oil-free environments.

Electric brakes have fast braking times, suitable for high-frequency braking applications.

  Operating Conditions for Electric Brakes:

  1. Ambient air relative humidity not exceeding 85% (20±5℃).

  2. No gases or dust in the surrounding medium that corrode metal or damage insulation.

  3. Electric brakes use Class B insulation; voltage fluctuations do not exceed +5% and -15% of the rated voltage; operating mode is continuous duty.

  4. When installing the electric brake, ensure the accuracy of the fit between the drive shaft and the brake.

  5. The brake disc of the electric brake is used without oil contamination.

  Power-on Precautions for Electric Brakes:

  1. Speed: The permissible speed of the clutch and brake (see the basic parameter table of electromagnetic clutches and brakes) is determined by the speed of the friction surface. Exceeding this speed will result in failure to produce rated torque, abnormal wear, or overheating and deformation.

  2. Temperature: The clutch and brake are Class B insulation, with a normal temperature rise of 40°C. The operating temperature at the limit thermal equilibrium is not allowed to exceed 100°C; otherwise, the coil and friction parts are easily damaged.

  3. Humidity and Water Droplets: If water droplets adhere to the friction surface of the clutch and electric brake, the friction force will be very low before it is completely dry. Moisture is the main cause of corrosion of this product; please pay full attention.

  4. Foreign Matter: No foreign matter can be mixed into the friction surface. Grease mixing will cause low friction; dust and metal particles mixing will damage the friction parts or rotating parts. Chemical mixing is the main cause of rust and corrosion. Please note and use a protective cover if necessary.

  5. Ventilation: Because the Electric Brake friction heat generated will dissipate to the outside, it should be installed in a ventilated location.
