Precautions for using electromagnetic brakes

Electromagnetic brakes are mainly used with series motors. They are widely used in machinery such as metallurgy, construction, chemical industry, food, machine tools, stage, elevators, ships, and packaging, as well as braking during power outages. The resistance torque required to stop or decelerate mechanical moving parts is called braking torque. Braking torque is the basis for the design and selection of brakes, and its size is determined by the type of machinery and operating requirements. The performance of the friction material (brake components) used in electromagnetic brakes directly affects the braking process, and the main factors affecting its performance are the operating temperature and heating rate. Friction materials should have a high and stable friction coefficient and good wear resistance. Friction materials are divided into

Friction materials should have a high and stable coefficient of friction and good wear resistance. Friction materials are divided into metal and non-metal. The former commonly uses cast iron, steel, bronze and powder metallurgy friction materials, while the latter commonly uses leather, rubber, wood and asbestos.

Electromagnetic brake precautions

1. Please use the electromagnetic brake in the absence of moisture or oil. If the friction parts are contaminated with water or oil, the friction torque will be greatly reduced, and the braking sensitivity will decrease. In order to avoid these situations during use, please add a cover.

2. When used in dusty places, please place all brakes in a box. Electromagnetic brakes below 60KGM can be vertical, and even higher models can be used.

3. Please use the specifications of JS6 for the long shaft size of the installed electromagnetic brake. Install the shaft using one of the keys specified in JIS B1301-1959.

4. Considering factors such as thermal expansion, please select an installation shaft thrust of 0.2 mm or less.

     

5. During the installation of the electromagnetic brake, please use a mechanical method to adjust the suction gap to within ±20% of the specified value.

6. Please keep the bracket light and do not put excessive pressure on the brake bearing.

7. For screws used for assembly, please use spring metal sheets and adhesives to prevent loosening.

8. When using Electromagnetic brake When using the frame on the mechanical side to maintain the leads, a terminal block needs to be used to ensure the connection.
