What types of brake motor protectors are there?

1. Thermal relay: ordinary small-capacity AC motor, working conditions are good, there is no occasions with severe working conditions such as frequent starting; due to poor accuracy, reliability cannot be guaranteed, so it is not recommended to use.

2. Electronic type: detect the three-phase current value, set the current value with a potentiometer or code switch, the circuit generally adopts an analog type, and adopts inverse time or definite working characteristics. Protection functions include overload, phase loss, and rotor locked-rotor. The fault type is displayed by the indicator light, and the working power is displayed by the digital tube.

3. Intelligent type: detects the three-phase current value, the protector uses a single-chip microcomputer to realize the intelligent comprehensive protection of the brake motor, integrating protection, measurement, communication, and display. The set current adopts digital setting, which can be set through the operation panel buttons. Users can modify the settings of various parameters on the spot according to the specific conditions of the brake motor; use digital tubes as display windows or large-screen LCD displays, which can support multiple communication protocols, are relatively expensive, and are used in more important occasions; High-voltage motor protection adopts intelligent protection device.

4. Thermal protection method: The thermal element is embedded in the brake motor, and the protection effect is good according to the temperature of the motor winding; but when the motor capacity is large, it needs to be used in combination with the current monitoring type to avoid the temperature when the motor is locked increase rapidly. Due to the hysteresis of the temperature measuring element, the winding of the brake motor is damaged.

5. The type of magnetic field temperature detection: the magnetic field detection coil and temperature measuring element are embedded in the brake motor and protected according to the change of the internal rotating magnetic field and the change of the motor temperature. The main functions include overload, locked rotor, phase loss, overheat protection and wear monitoring. The protection function is complete. The disadvantage is that a magnetic field detection coil and a temperature sensor need to be installed inside the motor.
