Factors Affecting the Lifespan of Electromagnetic Brakes

1. Frequency and Time of Use: The higher the frequency and duration of use of the electromagnetic brake, the greater the wear; conversely, the less the wear. However, this does not mean that less use is better; if not used for a long time, and the machine is not broken in, its service life will be shortened.

2. Maintenance Level: Machines, like people, also need maintenance. After long-term use, in order to maintain a better state, careful inspection, maintenance, and replacement of parts are required.

3. Material Itself: Higher quality materials can extend the service life.

4. Load Characteristics: Related to dynamic load torque and static load torque. Large loads, sudden loading, and incomplete unloading can also significantly affect the service life of the electromagnetic brake.

Precautions for Electromagnetic Brakes

1. The surface of the friction plate and armature must be free of oil and kept clean;

2. Ensure an air gap during installation;

3. The gear sleeve must not have axial movement;

4. After installation, unscrew the hollow bolt and lock it onto the motor's rear end cover or flange.

Operating Conditions for Electromagnetic Brakes

Electromagnetic brakes with power loss have advantages such as compact structure, simple operation, sensitive response, long service life, reliable use, and easy remote control. Therefore, they require certain conditions during operation:

1. The relative humidity of the surrounding air should be below 85%.

2. There should not be enough gas and dust to corrode metal and damage insulation in the surrounding medium.

3. Class B insulation is used near the power-off brake, and voltage fluctuations are less than 5% and 15% of the rated voltage. Its operating mode is continuous duty.

4. During installation, ensure matching accuracy between the drive shaft and the power-off brake. The brake disc of the power-off brake should be used without oil contamination.

Common Faults and Troubleshooting Methods for Electromagnetic Brakes

1. High Conductivity Measures: Replace the internal cooling circulating water; replace the resin used for filtration.

2. Water Level Drop Measures: When casting steel, check the water system's hard pipes for leaks and deal with them promptly if found; after stopping casting, open the mold protection box, check the hose body and joints, and deal with any issues promptly if found.

3. Electromagnetic Brake Ground Fault Measures: preliminarily determine the location of the faulty coil, open the mold protection box after stopping casting, check the wear of the joints and cable sheath, and deal with any issues promptly if found; if it still does not recover, stop using the electromagnetic brake and perform further inspection and repair offline.

4. Liquid Level Fluctuation and Abnormal Display Measures: Stop the electromagnetic brake. If the liquid level returns to normal, check the compensation card and parameters after stopping casting and adjust them promptly; if the liquid level does not return to normal, consider a liquid level detection system fault.
